What you give us

Tenants ACT has no forms, accounts or newsletters, and it doesn't ask for your name or contact details.

The rent increase calculator works out its result in your browser. Your figures aren't stored or sent to us, and the calculator is hidden from the session recordings described below.

Website analytics

We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how people use the site, such as which pages are read, how visitors arrive and what device and browser they use. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device and the pages you visit. Advertising features are turned off. Google may process this information outside Australia. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

We also use Microsoft Clarity, which records clicks, scrolling and pages viewed, and creates heatmaps and session replays, so we can see where guides are hard to use. Clarity is set to hide what you type into fields and the rent increase calculator's results, but it still records clicks and choices. Microsoft may use first- and third-party cookies and may process the information outside Australia. See the Microsoft privacy statement.

You can block these cookies in your browser settings or with a content blocker; the site works without them.

Server logs

Like most websites, the service that hosts the site keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser and the page requested) for security and to keep the site running.
